 Primrose Cottage | Roswell, GA | July 1, 2017

Allison and Shawn’s Primrose Cottage wedding is definitely one that will go down in the books as an interesting one to say the least! Why might you ask? Well, if you live in Georgia, you know our summer thunderstorms can be a little bit unpredictable; so much so that the even the forecasters get it wrong very often. Allison and Shawn’s wedding last weekend was filled with forecasts of thunderstorms, but with them letting up- this didn’t happen really. We had lots and lots of rain with little intermittent dry moments. Luckily we were able to take advantage of these dry moments and get some great pictures outside, but it was definitely a run in/run out type of afternoon. In fact, we had planned their First Look at the Roswell Square just a block from the venue; but as we had them lined up, literally about to do the First Look, it starts to rain some. We decided to head over to the venue instead, and boy am I glad we did! The sky fell out less than 5 minutes later. We ended up doing their First Look on the porch of the Primrose Cottage. But enough about the rain…

I had such a great time with Allison and Shawn at Primrose Cottage. This is my 2nd time shooting there this year and I still have two more times to visit, so you’ll be seeing lots of Primrose Cottage if you follow me regularly!

Allison and Shawn met at Ballroom Dance Clubs of Atlanta, so you know their first dance was going to be epic. They have helped Allison and Shawn prepare a special waltz for their first dance. Their first dance is “Reflecting Light” which is from Allison’s favorite show, Gilmore Girls- a girl after my own heart! Love me some GG! I loved the fact that they had a woodwind quintet playing at the wedding! Allison was in band, so these musicians were five of Allison’s long time band friends. They played Disney songs! I loved hearing Beauty and the Beast and the Little Mermaid being played at their wedding!

Allison and Shawn are gamers like Joshua and me and play lots of board games (yeah board game geeks). When they came over for their pre-wedding consultation at my house in May, they saw all of our games and we talked for a while about all of the different games we play in common. They even recommended a new game to me that I bought for Joshua for Father’s Day that has been a hit in our household! In relating to their love for board games, Allison crafted a unity ceremony piece based on Shawn and Allison’s shared love of board games – Unity Meeples with a Carcassonne game board background customized to the adventures Shawn and Allison have had together.

I loved all of the special touches throughout the day and how much this wedding was personalized to Allison and Shawn. Thanks so much to the two of you for allowing me to be a part of your special day. Evie and I had a great time at the wedding!

um… this is awesome. I love this!  We snuck in during one of the rain pour-downs and opened presents. Allison made him this awesome scrapbook that reminded me of Disney’s “UP”.  X-men socks and TOMS!    Y’all, this was a giant cheese bowl- he put the yummy food in it, let the cheese melt and scooped it out!  Unity Meeples! So much fun!  When you meet in a ballroom dancing class, you have an epic first dance  We snuck outside for a few nighttime shots

Mandi you are amazing! The pictures are beautiful and capture a wonderful moment in our lives which I will always be grateful. You and Evie were also amazing to me (grooms mom) and my granddaughter Kate who seemed to feel she was the center of this event! You both went above and beyond – especially capturing group pictures quickly but the quality didn’t suffer. Thank you so much!

    Mandi,

Thank you and Evie so much for the beautiful pictures. My favorite are the outdoor shots. So thankful the rain let up enough. I love the black and whites, too. There are many things I may have forgotten about, some of the beautiful decorations, were it not for the photos. You did an outstanding job and we will treasure these photos forever.
