Springer Opera House | Columbus, GA | March 25, 2017

When Katie hired me after the Georgia Bridal Show, she didn’t have her wedding venue chosen yet. They had their date they wanted, but they were looking at a few venues in Atlanta and one not in Atlanta. When Katie told me they chose the Springer Opera House in Columbus, I looked it up and immediately got excited. Built in 1871, this building is rich in amazing architecture and history; but not only does it have amazing history as the building, it also holds a special history for Katie and Matt.

Katie grew up in Columbus and performed many plays throughout her childhood at the Springer Opera House. Not only that, this theatre holds a special place for them because this is also where Matt proposed to Katie. On the exact stage they got married this past weekend, he also asked her to marry him; so it only seemed like the perfect and most fitting venue for them to get married: from their engagement to their First Look to their “I do’s”!

Katie and Matt have been together for nearly a decade after meeting their freshmen year of college at Georgia Tech, so it was fitting we did their engagement pictures on campus there; and while they dated majority of their college careers, they spent half of that in a long distant relationship due to the fact they had study abroad and out-of-state co-op programs every other semester they were there. Talk about some love and dedication to each other!

Every little detail of the day was perfect. From the blue sapphire ring from Katie’s mom to wear at her borrowed/blue to the amazingly designed wedding invites that looked like a theatre ticket to Katie’s gorgeous dress and stunning bouquet to the blue pink flamingo suit her brother, Bobby, sported during the reception (yes, go check it out), I loved every single detail of their day. I loved everything about the Springer Opera House! I’m ready to go back again.

Katie and Matt, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your special day. I truly had an amazing time laughing and getting to join y’all as you became Mr. and Mrs. Huggins. I hope you’re enjoying California! Love you both!

 I mean, look at this invite? How cute is it??  This is her mom’s ring that she borrowed for the wedding day.And this super cute back to the invite! One of Matt’s first gifts ever to Katie was hand warmers, so this was the greatest gift for their wedding!  I love it! Each of their reactions is priceless!  And now time for amazing pictures inside of the theatre!  Y’all, that sky! I am in love with this shot!  Oh the jokes that made Matt laugh from Katie.  I love Katie’s face! It says, “I’m getting married!”  You may kiss the bride!  When your brother embarrasses you… not from the suit, but by what he said.  Who do you see in both the ladies and guys pics trying to catch things? 🙂
