First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta | Piedmont Driving Club | Atlanta, GA | October 12, 2019

I still remember when Aubrey and her mom, Leigh Anne, emailed me to inquiry for Aubrey and Jake’s wedding at First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta and Piedmont Driving Club. I was in Savannah for a photography conference and on my way home, I spent an hour and a half of my 4 hour drive home talking to them about Aubrey and Jake! I had the best time talking with them and we all knew by the end of the conversation that I would be shooting their October wedding at First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta.

Leigh Anne found me on Instagram from searching Piedmont Driving Club and saw the wedding I did there and contacted me because she loved the stuff she saw from the venue. I was excited to get to go back to both First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta and Piedmont Driving Club! It had been years since I had been to the church, as it was probably the first year or two in my photography career I second shot there. It is a gorgeous church from the late 1800’s right next to the High Museum in midtown. The brick and amazing archway doors outside of the building was the perfect backdrop for pictures!

I met Aubrey and Jake shortly after them booking me for their engagement session at Piedmont Park. I had the best time getting to know them at their session! We had such a good time talking and getting to know each other. I could tell how much Jake and Aubrey adore each other from how they interacted with each other. I loved getting to hear about how they met at Auburn and their relationship in college.

Most of you know I was a former middle school teacher before I had my kids. I shot my wedding photography on the side while I taught and picked up more full time photography when I quit teaching. Well, recently it’s been fun as my former 8th grade students I taught in my first couple of years back in 2007 and on are all out of college now and… getting married and their friends are getting married! Recently, I have run into a handful of my former students at weddings and engagement parties! It’s so fun how much teaching world is blending in with my photography world now! I love it!

The wedding day was absolutely perfect! From the weather to the wedding party to the reception, everything was incredible! Aubrey and Jake had the best wedding party ever! I hope to see some of them again at future weddings in this friend group! The reception was one of the most fun I’ve ever captured! City Heat Band Atlanta brought the house down! Seriously y’all! They played an amazing mix of oldies and new music and it all sounded amazing! Their music got the guests up the whole night for dancing and Ben and I captured amazing picture after amazing picture of everyone having a blast at the reception!

Congratulations to Aubrey and Jake! Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your special day in such an important way. I truly thank the Lord for getting to be there on your wedding day! Love y’all!

 Gorgeous rings!  I love gifting my couples with something special on their wedding day. Aubrey and Jake received a drawn picture of Samford Hall at Auburn, where they both met and started dating. Sweet cousin hug- both are getting married just months apart!  Watching UGA lose to USC (insert crying emoji) Making sure the wrinkles are out of the dress  Bridesmaids deserve a First Look of the bride, too! I love it when brides do this with their girls!   First Look with Jake!  Sweet moment of reading cards to each other  So I might be a little obsessed with First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta now. Such a gorgeous church!  Gotta love an epic veil toss!  Y’all, these socks had Jake’s faces on them!  Epic wedding party!  Private prayer time with parents and wedding party before the wedding Sweet hug from almost-mother-in-law before the ceremony  The sanctuary at First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta is incredible!  Gorgeous reception set up at Piedmont Driving Club! Gorgeous cake! Great job Piedmont Driving Club and Britt Wood Designs! The room looked amazing! Aubrey and Jake wanted these outdoor shots, but we knew we would have limited time. We ran to grab these shots with 5 minutes left of light outside once they got to the reception!  Epic dip kiss shot! Thanks Ben for capturing this!   Best mother-son dance ever!  Such a great speech from Dad!  Funny story: I taught Jada (hugging Aubrey) back when she was in the 8th grade!  So much fun!!!!  Jake cracked me up all evening!
