2017 Trends | Wedding Planner Interview | Chancey Charm

I am starting up a new blog series for the next weeks! I reached out to a handful of respected vendors in the Atlanta area to hear their thoughts and ideas about weddings trends we saw in 2017 as wedding vendors. I have interviewed florists, wedding coordinators, DJ’s, and hair/makeup artists! Hop on each week to see their answers in what trends they think are popular and not-so-popular.

This week, I talked to the Chancey Charm team located here in Atlanta. I have loved working with the Chancey Charm team for the past couple of years. They are such an amazing group of ladies who do the best job for their clients. If you’re looking for a wedding planner in the process of your wedding, Chancey Charm is where you need to look first! Chancey Charm is the owner of the widely sought after Chancey Charm team. She leads branches from Atlanta to Charleston to Nashville to NYC and beyond! Brie Owens is the primary planner for the Atlanta branch of Chancey Charm. I asked both of them to share their thoughts on the wedding trends of 2017. Let’s see which of these carry on to 2018! Thanks to the Chancey Charm team to take time out to answer these questions for me!

What do you believe was the most popular wedding trend of 2017?
CC said, “Personally, I think that a focus on greenery was the most popular trend that we saw with our clients.  People are loving the long, lose pieces of greenery everywhere these days.” And Brie agreed with CC, adding, “Greenery galore! It’s gorgeous, so I say the more the merrier!!”

I agree with them! This is a trend that is becoming more popular! Greenery is a popular trend that allows for beautiful tablescapes without breaking a budget. I see a lot of eucalyptus as well at many weddings!

Which trends did you like?
CC said she is “loving all of the translucent + marble details, like escort cards.”
Brie told me she, “loved seeing all the gorgeous and unique floral ceremony arches!”
Which trends did you hate?
CC told me that is tired of mason jars. She made me laugh when she said, “I’m honestly shocked that mason jars are still a thing. Why are these even still on Pinterest?!”
Brie had a really cool answer. She told me, “I wouldn’t say I hated any, because everyone’s taste is different, but personally, I’m not a fan of out of place guest table linens. For example, your colors theme could be peacock, but that doesn’t mean you have to have turquoise linens, you can have a napkins or a cake table linen for the pop of color.”
What tips do you have for 2018 brides in planning their wedding?
CC and Brie both had some solid information and help from the Chancey Charm team. They both said to start with a solid budget. Don’t look around and fall in love with something you can’t afford. Figure out what you can and cannot do before you find something you simply MUST HAVE and find out it’s out of your budget. Sarah made me laugh once again when she told me that the girls should “get off Pinterest until your wedding is over.” Too many cooks in the kitchen (aka too many ideas to overwhelm you) is my thought!
