If you read my blog posts, you often see “I met so-and-so at a bridal show” when I share how I met my brides. This is not the case for Janet. In fact, I met Janet back in 2006 when she was just 18 years old and fresh out of high school. My senior year at Berry College, I was her RA her freshmen year. I loved getting to know her back then. I even led a Bible study on my hall with some of my girls in which I still remember Janet told me back then helped grow her faith in Jesus. She was there when the hall threw me a surprise engagement party to celebrate when Joshua and I got engaged. It’s so cool to see it all come full circle now, ten years later. It’s her turn to get married!
Janet and Matt met at a wedding of a mutual friend a few years ago. I love it! Janet and Matt aren’t my only couple this year who met at a wedding. So apparently if you are single, don’t take a +1 to a wedding and you might find your future spouse! They have dated long distance or semi-long distance their entire relationship. Janet met Matt while she was living in Boston for school and he was in Georgia. Janet moved back down to Georgia and applied for grad school, deciding between DC and Atlanta. Janet chose Emory, which gave Matt and Janet a chance to be closer since he lives in Northwest Georgia currently. I’m sure they will be excited to finally live not only in the same town, but same house once they are married!
I had such a fun time meeting with them this weekend for their engagement session at Piedmont Park. I always love going here for sessions and going with them was no different. Janet and Matt got engaged at Piedmont Park, so it was fun for them to go back and share with me where they got engaged and relive the story of how it happened.
I cannot wait for their wedding this summer. We are going to have so much fun. Thanks Janet and Matt for trusting me to do your pictures.
