A NEW Website for Mandi Mitchell Photography

Just for fun

Two years ago after going to Katelyn James’ workshop in Virginia, I came back with a newfound sense of who I wanted to be as a photographer. I had been planning to rebrand for months before going to her workshop, and in fact, I was at the time in the middle of rebranding a new business name and logo (all done by myself and Ben). After going to her workshop, I left with new direction in where I wanted to take my business. I scrapped the business name Ben and I had been toying with as well as the logo we had been designing.

On my 10 hour drive back home, I called a graphic designer and talked for over an hour about what I wanted for my new name, logo, and brand to be. I could not have been happier with what Sara Alread came up for me in my logo.

My website was one that Ben designed for me with his knowledge from Adobe Catalyst. I was REALLY impressed with what he came up with, not being a web designer himself, but I guess that comes with being really smart and a good combo of right/left brained. We set it up in order to have a working website for my bridal show that was to be just a month after the workshop. We tweaked it and work on it for a few months after to get it where we wanted, but the whole time, intended it to be a temporary website until I hired someone else to do one for me.

Last January, almost one year ago to the date, I went to The Event sponsored by Justin and Mary. At the one day workshop, we learned so much awesome information that just blew my mind and really got me to thinking. One of the biggest takeaways from the workshop was my need for a website that really fit my brand, style, and me. I knew that my site, while good, didn’t fit me and exactly what I wanted to represent me. I left determined to change my website last year.

Well, the year picked up quickly and my intentions to redesign my site were put on the back burner while I worked throughout the year on my 21 weddings. Lots of editing, client meetings, consults, and just being a work at home mom kept me from really focusing on changing my site.

I knew my last wedding would be at the end of October, so I told myself I would start researching and planning to find a web designer once I finished editing that wedding. After a few weeks of researching, I decided on hiring Media Novak to do the redesign for me. (I’ll blog more in a few weeks my experience with them.)

It’s been a lot of emails back and forth over the past two months to get my site designed and where I felt it represented me, and I can say that I couldn’t be happier with it! This new site is everything that I want for my brand and me. I want my personality to shine through the pages of my website. The few people I had test my site for me ahead of time said they could totally “see me” in the site. I am beyond thrilled to hear that.

So here it is… without further adieu, here is my new Mandi Mitchell Photography website!
