2400 On the River | Kayla and Diego

Y’all, I loved this wedding! 2400 On the River is the PERFECT venue! As a North Georgia wedding photographer, I have heard of 2400 On the River for a while, so I was beyond excited to get to shoot here. It’s such a cool venue with so many photo location opportunities. I love that they had an old piece of Disneyland Paris on their property. I wonder if you can figure out which one it is as you look through the pictures. There’s a company called Styled Shoots Across America. They selected these gorgeous high end venues to shoot and guess where they came a couple of years ago? It was such a special day for me as I had a personal connection to Kayla and Diego. This day was one in which was MANY years in the making. Kayla and Diego started dating in high school over 12 years ago. I met Kayla as a basketball coach at her high school around the same time she and Diego started dating. I even taught her younger sister in middler school the year prior. I got to know her and the other basketball girls while coaching and kept in touch through social media over the years. The girls have such a unique friendship in that they have all stayed friends over the years, so much so that EVERY one of Kayla’s bridesmaids was a basketball friend! For the first time in shooting 15 years and hundreds of weddings, I knew every single bridesmaid personally before showing up for the day! It was so cool!

It’s been fun to see Kayla and Diego’s relationship grow as they both went to undergrad, law school, medical school, and residency. Most of their relationship has been long distance, so I know they were VERY excited to have Diego make it to Atlanta for his medical fellowship. Like I said, their day was a long time coming!

I loved all of the personal touches from Kayla and Diego’s day. Kayla brought her grandmother’s dress to display at wedding, she held her grandmother’s cross necklace, her wedding jewelry was a gift from her father, and her wedding shoes were a gift from Diego’s mom. She even bought personalized Nikes for herself and Diego as a special gift with their wedding colors and have 10-22-22 embroidered on them. She threw them on during the reception to get into some comfy shoes!

One crazy thing from the day was the amount of lady bugs that were flying around on their day. It was INSANE! I have never seen so many lady bugs in my life! You will see them throughout the pictures as they fly around and land on things. I even swallowed one while breathing in for a sneeze! haha! It was GROSS!

Stunning invitations! I love all of these ring shots with Kayla and Diego’s rings! They wrote their vows in these cute personalized books and read them privately to each other during their First Look! Sweet basketball friends! Ben hung out with the guys while I was with the ladies.  Kayla and Diego initially did not want a First Look, but after talking through the pros and cons of doing one, they decided to do one. Kayla told me that day how glad she was that they chose to do it! Reading each others sweet vows I loved this high five/first bump combo! Super fun between the two of them!This is the Disneyland Paris part of the venue! I love it! This is my favorite shot of Kayla!    I love these stairs and front of the venue! Gorgeous wedding party!   I also love this spot of the venue!
