Agnes Scott College | Atlanta, GA | October 15, 2016
I met Jessica at the Georgia Bridal Show January of 2015, and while she and Sean weren’t planning on getting married until fall of 2016, she knew right away that she wanted to book me for her wedding. She had plans for them to get married at Agnes Scott College where she went to school, but they had to wait until the fall of 2015 to find out the calendar for the following school year and when they could schedule their wedding at the campus. So they booked me without an official date. We shot their engagement pictures a short while later, and Jessica crossed her fingers that I wouldn’t book another wedding before she was able to pick her date- and it worked out! I’m so glad it did!
Jessica and Sean had a rough road (literally and figuratively) to get to their wedding. A few weeks before the wedding, Jessica got a parasite that put her in the hospital! I’m so glad she was better for the wedding; and then on their way down from Virginia where they live, Jessica’s car broke down an hour outside of Atlanta. They had to call family to help get them the rest of the way down to the city. Plus with their car messed up, it threw off their plans to go to Charleston this week. I cannot imagine all of that going on right before my wedding, but they persevered and pushed through. Nothing was going to stop them from getting married! They had survived four degrees, countless hours of studying, planning a wedding from a different state, and much more to not be slowed down by a trip to the hospital or a broken down car!
And despite all of these hiccups leading up to the wedding, their day was perfect and went off without a hitch. It was one of the most relaxed and stress free weddings I’ve ever shot. Jessica was even on time for their First Look! And if you’ve read any of my posts on First Looks, I always talk about how we’re never “on time” for it. Well, Jessica was ready to go pretty much at our scheduled time! She put together an awesome team to make her day go well!
Since Sean went to Georgia Tech and Jessica went to Agnes Scott, we took their engagement pictures at Tech and they had their wedding at Agnes. It was a perfect mix for them! Many of you know I went to Berry College in Rome, and one of my favorite things about Berry is the beautiful architecture on campus, especially up at the Ford Buildings. I came to Agnes Scott on Saturday and felt like I was transported back to Berry. So many of the buildings are exactly what I would see at Berry, and I loved it! Agnes Scott is such a gorgeous campus and I loved everything about it! I hope to get some more weddings in the future there!
And y’all, they had a Beauty and the Beast themed reception!!! Jessica loves Belle and bows and everything girly. It was perfect theme for their reception. I really loved it. You’ll see how she incorporated it when you see the reception detail pictures!
Congrats to Jessica and Sean! Thanks for allowing Ben and me to be a part of your special day. We had a blast and couldn’t have ended our 2016 season with a better wedding!
Jessica had two pairs of shoes- these cute white Kate Spade shoes, and then another pair of pink glitter shoes. She had planned on wearing these white ones before and during the ceremony and the other ones later, but walking in the pink shoes proved to be a much easier to walk around in!
I mean, who doesn’t love a cute pair of pink Kate Spades?! Another one of my brides, Natalie, had a white pair of these earlier in the year! I love them!!
Because Papa John’s pizza while getting ready is the best idea!
Reading a sweet note from Sean!
First Look time!
Jessica’s dress was so long that instead of twirling to show it off, Sean did a spin around it to see it!
First Look with Dad! So sweet!
We went into the library for few shots. Since they both got undergraduate and advanced degrees, they spent a lot of time together in libraries over the years, so it was fitting to take a few pictures in the library!
College friends!
Jessica and her brother, Doug, have a picture of the two of them walking like this when she came to visit the campus as a high school senior, when she graduated Agnes Scott, and now on her wedding!
This reception hall was awesome!
Look at the rose in the glass case!!
Cogsworth anyone??
And Belle’s love for books and of course Lumiere!
The important mirror! And Jessica’s brother, Doug, did all of the floral arrangements for the reception!
Jessica’s mom decorated the cookie cake with the GT!
Frat brother tradition is to surround the groom and yell a chant song to him at this wedding. The guy at the top is not Sean, but he’s in the center of the guys piling on him!
