Can I tell y’all how fun Betsy is? She is just a ball of fun energy! Ben and I met Betsy at another one of our bridal shows in March. These shows can be hectic and crazy, and I can only imagine how overwhelming they are from a bride’s perspective! I never actually went to one myself, but I look around at the tons of vendors at each show and see how girls can get a little overwhelmed to say the least. Betsy said one of the sweetest things ever when she emailed me after the show: “It was so great to meet you guys at the bridal show. Aside from your gorgeous pictures, I really appreciated the time you both took to talk to us about your photography philosophy and my wedding in general (my mom was especially overwhelmed by the show and really enjoyed the opportunity to have a normal conversation with someone).”
It’s comments like that in which Ben and I strive for. This isn’t the first time we have gotten a message like that from someone. We work hard at the shows (and beyond) to make brides, their grooms, and their Mom’s comfortable at the shows. I love that we got to meet Betsy and her mom at the show. At the engagement session, she told me that she knew right away that she wanted to use Ben and me for her wedding! It made me so happy to hear her say those sweet words!
I have loved getting to know Betsy and Brandon as a couple! We went to dinner at one of my favorite burger places last month to get to know each other; and after the engagement session on Tuesday, we went to one of their favorite burger places. I guess that’s our new thing! We’ll take each other to different burger joints when we get together!
We did a lot of “adventuring” for their engagement session, including hiking down into a creek bed, hanging out in a mosquito infested area, sweating our butts off from the heat, and walking nearly a mile and half around trip to get to all of the awesome spots! They were troopers during the session, and we might have gotten attacked by those mosquitos; but we sure had a great time! I cannot wait until their wedding in September! We are going to have so much fun!
Mosquito infested area: worth it!
Spot where we climbed down into the creek bed. My new Chacos did me good!
An SEC house divided: Dawgs vs Tigers
(I say go Dawgs! What is geaux Tigers anyways?)
Sneaking over her shoulder to get a look at what she’s reading!
Brandon designed Betsy’s awesome ring! See the heart-shaped diamond?
Betsy’s two awesome sisters joined us at the session for fun! The youngest, Hannah, told me she recognized me. I’m normally pretty good at remembering faces, but I couldn’t place her. A little while later, we figured out the connection: she was a student at the middle school I taught! She was in 8th grade my 2nd year teaching back in 2008! I didn’t have her in my class, otherwise I would have remembered her, but she had one of my good friends from the school. Talk about small world! I cannot wait to get to hang out with Hannah and Sara again at the wedding! We had a blast!
