Olivia and Marcus | A Sweet, Intimate Wedding in Cumming, Georgia
Some weddings remind us that the best days are not about how big the party is. Instead, they are about the people we love and the moments we share. Olivia and Marcus had the sweetest wedding at Marcus’ sister’s home in Cumming, Georgia. Ali’s home was a perfect location for such a perfect wedding! Their day was full of love, joy, and laughter. Best of all, they got to share it with their closest friends and family. As a Cumming wedding photographer, I love getting to capture days like this. These weddings feel personal and warm, and every little detail has a story to tell.
A Classic and Timeless Bride
Olivia looked beautiful in her classic bridal look. She chose a timeless style that felt both elegant and true to her. Meanwhile, Marcus looked so sharp in his white tux top. Together, they made such a lovely pair!
However, one of my favorite details was Marcus’ lion piece. Instead of a classic boutonniere, he wore a unique lion piece in his pocket. It was such a fun touch, and it made his look stand out. Be on the lookout for it in the blog post!
A Wedding Filled With Family Love
Family played a big part in Olivia and Marcus’ wedding day. They held their ceremony on the front porch of Marcus’ sister’s home. There, their closest friends and family watched as they said their vows. Afterward, everyone moved to the tent in the backyard to eat, laugh, and celebrate.
Sadly, Marcus’ brother, Roman, could not attend the wedding in person. His wife was due any day with their first child, so they needed to stay close to home. Even so, Roman found a sweet way to be part of the day. He lent Marcus his lion piece, bow tie, and even his shoes! Plus, family members used FaceTime and shared videos throughout the day. This helped Roman feel like he was right there with everyone. I love how they found a way to include him in such a special moment.
Between how they included Roman, the use of Ali’s home, and Nikki’s amazing and heartfelt speech at the reception, you can tell these four siblings are close and truly love each other. They have invited Olivia into their family and she is now one of them! The final Grimaldi sibling is married!
As a Cumming wedding photographer, I know how much these little moments matter. Years from now, Olivia and Marcus will be able to look back at their photos and remember not just how their wedding looked, but also how it felt.
A Personal Connection That Made the Day Even Sweeter
I first met Marcus’ mom, Carolyn, when I worked as a teacher. We worked at the same school, and we have stayed in touch over the years. So, when Marcus and Olivia got engaged, Carolyn made sure to connect us! It was such a joy to work with this sweet couple. Getting to photograph a wedding for a family I already knew made the day feel even more special. Plus, I loved seeing Carolyn celebrate this big step in her son’s life. I still remember when her oldest daughter and I were pregnant at the same time! Her twins are just a few months younger than my oldest.
An Intimate Wedding to Remember
Olivia and Marcus’ wedding was simple, sweet, and full of meaning. From the front porch ceremony to the backyard reception, every part of the day felt true to them. Most of all, their family and friends filled the day with joy and laughter. One of my FAVORITE parts was the hand written notes they wrote to each of their guests as their place holders for the tables. They wrote heartfelt letters for them to pick up which also told them which table they were assigned to sit at during the reception. In my nearly 19 years of shooting weddings, I have never seen this!
Sometimes, the most special weddings are the ones that keep things simple. After all, the heart of a wedding is the love two people share and the people who stand beside them.
