DeAndra and Stephen were the second of our doubleheader weekend this weekend. They were the last of my stretch of 6 weddings in 4 weeks, and we couldn’t have ended that crazy stretch with a better wedding!
I got an email from DeAndra back in January about her September wedding. When I called her to talk to her about her wedding, I found out that we had a lot in common. She coached at the school I used to coach at! While she coached tennis and I did track, what are the odds that we coached at the same school? Go Hooch! And come to find out, I know her sister and brother-in-law seeing as they are track coaches as well! They coached at a rival school at the time I coached at Chattahoochee, but her brother-in-law is now at Chattahoochee! I wish I could have worked with them, but it was fun to see them at the wedding and spend the day with everyone!
If you live in Atlanta and were around this past Sunday, you remember the crazy weather we had that day. It thunderstormed on and off ALL day long. We would have a crazy downpour and then 10 minutes later, have a clear and sunny 30 minutes before it started pouring again. I looked at the forecast online and we kept seeing giant orange/red and green spots all around us. The Lord was looking down on us, because the timing for all of our pictures worked out perfectly for their day; and while I brought umbrella’s for the day, we didn’t need to use them for any of the pictures! We did have to move the ceremony under a pavilion due to the pouring rain, but we were able to get every other picture we wanted in spite of the rain. In fact, it cooled the day off a great deal, so we were thankful for the rain!
We had so much fun despite a few bumps in the road the day of, but that’s okay! I actually just posted yesterday about how your wedding day won’t always go as planned, but in the end, you’re married and that’s all that matters! That’s pretty much what DeAndra said to me! I loved her go-with-the-flow attitude and her lack of stress on her day. She was seriously one of the most chill brides! When their First Look didn’t start until 45 minutes before the ceremony due to some delays and the rain, she was all cool as a cucumber. I love her for that! Thank you to both Stephen and DeAndra for your flexibility and how awesome y’all were. Thanks for allowing Ben and me to be a part of your special day and capture these pictures for y’all!
Some bling on bling!
Stephen’s parents gave DeAndra a locket as a wedding gift. So sweet!
DeAndra gave Stephen a Coach watch as a wedding gift. I love it!
So DeAndra couldn’t decide which pair of shoes she wanted to wear, so I took pictures of both!
So funny story- DeAndra got Stephen a card to go with his gift, but she forgot it; so she had someone else pick up a card. This one said “congratulations” on the inside and wasn’t quite the loving, sentimental card she had previously. She wasn’t going to use it, but ended up writing “congratulations… you get to marry me today.” It was pretty funny!
Liz was a little cold in the hotel room!
Jasmine was a great help in getting DeAndra ready!
I
don’t even know why they are making those faces, but this picture is awesome. I think it’s when they see DeAndra in her dress for the first time!
Time for their First Look! I LOVE Stephen’s face when he sees DeAndra!
When Stephen reads the card and opens the present!
These kiddos love their Auntie Dee!
We went back inside before the ceremony to get a handful more shots inside. The venue is so cool!
What’s crazy, is the guy in the air doesn’t even catch the garter. The other guy with his hand out catches it!
Can we all just look at DeAndra’s face here? I love it!
Make sure you check out more of our 2016 weddings!
