Midtown Engagement Pictures | Atlanta, GA
Last Thursday, I met Emily and Craig for their Midtown engagement pictures. I have wanted to mix it up lately and find some new locations for engagement pictures, so a few weeks ago when I second shot a wedding with a photographer friend of mine and ended up in front of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta for the wedding, I knew I had to come back at some point to do engagement pictures here. Emily and Craig did not have a preference on where they did their pictures, so I knew that this was my chance to suggest this awesome location. They were game and I was so excited to go here!
When booking clients, I normally have a chance to meet them beforehand either at a bridal show or through an in person consultation, but Emily’s schedule was so busy with work and other things this spring that we did an over-the-phone consultation. I immediately liked her and we had such a fun time talking. By the end of the phone call, she told me to put her date down and to book her for their August wedding! At the engagement session, Craig asked me how Emily found me, and I actually didn’t know! I turned to Emily and asked her, and she said she found me from The Knot and Google searching. I don’t have a paid subscription to The Knot, but she read some of the things my girls said about me through reviews and did some more research because of that. I LOVE IT! Thank you to my sweet girls who take the time to write reviews for me.
The Midtown engagement pictures were so much fun! We walked around a one block radius and got so many awesome pictures. They brought their sweet dog, Coconut, to the session as well. Thanks to my summer intern, Erin, for helping with Coconut! I loved getting to know Emily and Craig and their fun relationship. Emily and Craig met in such a fun way: she was interviewing the Nominee Finalists at ATP (Atlanta Technology Professionals) Pre-Nominee Reception and had just shut down recording when Craig Hyde walked up for his interview. She didn’t believe he was a nominee because he was about 10 years younger than our other finalists. Craig would say he was drawn to me like a moth to a flame and the rest is history!
Y’all, they had the most EPIC proposal! He planned a trip for them over the holidays to Peru and surprised Emily with a proposal at Machu Picchu!! Like what!? How amazing is that?! He proposed to her with a fake ring and had the real one at home just in case, so Emily got to see the real one once they got home. And her ring is stunning! You’ll see it in the post.
Thanks Emily and Craig for asking me to shoot your wedding and for trusting me with our location for your Midtown engagement pictures. I cannot wait for your wedding at the Piedmont Driving Club in August! We are going to have a blast!
