A Magical Georgia Aquarium Proposal for Jordan and Chelsea
How It All Began
Jordan and Chelsea’s love story started on a dating app, like many of my couples nowadays. From the start, they knew something was special. Fast forward, and Jordan reached out to me with an idea that made my heart so happy. I love a Georgia Aquarium proposal! I especially loved hearing how he found me through Jen and Adam’s engagement session from years ago. Moments like that remind me how each story connects to the next (and how important SEO is- haha)!
Planning the Perfect Surprise
Jordan and I planned every detail of the proposal together. He wanted it to be perfect for Chelsea, and he knew the Georgia Aquarium was the right spot. Chelsea loves aquariums, so he planned a weekend trip from North Carolina just for her. Their first date even had an aquarium as part of it. He wanted it to feel like a fun getaway, but he had a much bigger surprise waiting.
We decided on the Ocean Voyager tunnel for the big moment. The tunnel has that breathtaking blue glow with sharks, rays, and schools of fish swimming all around. It is most known for the whale shark(s) that live there. It’s peaceful, romantic, and unlike anywhere else. I could tell Jordan wanted something meaningful and magical, and this Georgia Aquarium proposal would be just that.
A Secret Audience
Jordan had another surprise up his sleeve. Both of their parents came along and were sneaking at the end of the tunnel, waiting to watch and capture the moment on video. But there was a funny twist! Jordan thought the tunnel was longer than it actually was, and he almost made it to the very end where the parents were hiding. Thankfully, we had one of the aquarium employees in on the plan. She quickly made a loud announcement that they were “at the end of the tunnel,” which stopped them just in time before the surprise was revealed. It worked perfectly, and the parents got to witness the whole proposal from their hiding spot!
The Big Moment
When the time came, Jordan dropped to one knee right in the middle of the tunnel. It was almost entirely empty at that moment, which worked out so well! We planned later in the day hoping that less people would be around. Chelsea was completely surprised. The look on her face said everything. She was full of joy, shock, and so much love. The few guests around them cheered as she said yes! It was such a sweet moment to capture.
A Mini Engagement Session
Afterward, we took time to explore and celebrate with a mini engagement session around the aquarium. The soft lighting and glowing tanks created the dreamiest backdrop. Every photo showed their excitement and how much they adore each other.
