Laura and Mark’s wedding this weekend was a blast! I could say it would be one that I would say was full of “surprises.” We had a fun day full of laughter and just plain fun. I did Laura and Mark’s engagement session a few weeks ago and just had a blast laughing with them; their wedding day proved no different.
They got ready at their home in Downtown Decatur and did their first look at their home. It was a perfect intimate setting for them that will carry great memories from here on out. I love that we did their first look at their house.
Our first surprise came when we got the Old Decatur Courthouse. We were setting up our equipment and meeting with the other vendors for the day when all of a sudden we heard the fire alarm go off! It got set off accidentally, but we didn’t know if we should go outside or what. I wasn’t going to risk getting caught in a potential fire, so I grabbed my equipment and headed outside. Well we turned this little surprise into a positive. All of the family was outside with us, so instead of having to wrangle everyone together later, we adjusted our timeline and did family pictures then! How’s that for flexibility?
I loved the pictures we captured of Mark and Laura after we did the family pictures. We kicked everyone out and made them go inside so we could have some one-on-one time with them and get some great pictures for them. Once again, Mark and Laura just laughed and smiled the whole time. It wasn’t hard to capture great pictures of the two of them!
The second surprise (that Ben and I knew of) came after the ceremony. Laura and Mark brought in a gospel choir from Event Performance Entertainment. They walked in and sang “All You Need is Love” from the Beatles. All of the wedding guests were surprised and loved it. It was so much fun capturing these moments! I loved it! The choir did an amazing job!
Our final surprise (that Ben and I also knew of) came at the end of the evening. Laura and Mark after walking out to sparklers, left in a horse-drawn carriage with their children. It was so cool and the perfect ending to a great day! Congrats Mark and Laura! I hope that your wedding day was everything to dreamed it would be. I truly was a fun and joyful day! Thanks for including us in your big day!

What a fabulous album of memories!! All of you look so very happy, and you, Laurie, look especially radiant. I am really sorry that I could not be there to take part in the joy that was obviously felt by everyone who attended. (Even the white horse looked happy!!)
I wish you and Mark the very best and may you have a long, vibrant relationship until the end
of your days.
