Little River Farms | Milton, GA | December 27, 2019
Katie and Dylan got married at Little River Farms right after Christmas, but I’m just now getting to blogging their wedding two days prior to Valentine’s Day since I was redoing my website and blog. Now that it’s up and running, it’s time to share their gorgeous images from their pleasantly warm winter wedding! Gotta love Georgia in the winter- 70’s one day and snowing two days later and then back to the 60’s the next day! Thankfully for Katie and Dylan’s Little River Farms wedding, it was nice and warm!
I met Katie last February at a venue show for another venue nowhere near where she got married! (HA!) We immediately clicked and I would have been very surprised if I hadn’t heard from Katie after the venue show… well as you can tell, I did hear from her! And while she didn’t get married at the venue we met, she did hire me for her wedding at Little River Farms! It was on the list of recommended places to check out, so I’m glad it worked out for me to shoot her Little River Farms wedding.
I finally had the chance to meet Katie and Dylan at their Piedmont Park engagement session this summer! We had a blast getting to know each other and survive the fun Georgia heat! I always love doing engagement sessions for my couples as it gives me a chance to get to know them before their wedding day. Katie and Dylan are friends with another local Atlanta photographer and had some engagement pictures done earlier, but I encouraged them to still do some with me as it gave me a chance to see them together as a couple and also meet Dylan. Otherwise, I would have been shaking his hand at the wedding since he is in the Air Force with limited availability to meet up.
With a December wedding and a ceremony at 5:30pm, we would have no light as the ceremony began. That in itself wasn’t a problem, because the ceremony was indoors and we had lighting; but the issue would have come after the ceremony with no opportunity for outdoor pictures of Katie and Dylan or really anyone other than the bridesmaids and groomsmen separately. So while they originally had opted for no First Look, after discussing their options with me, they decided a First Look would be the best to provide them with the most pictures and outdoor ones from their day. I am sooooo happy we did a First Look and I know they are, too! We got to walk the venue and make use of locations around Little River Farms I hadn’t previously used in my prior weddings there. We got so many gorgeous pictures! It was such a perfect day!
The vendor team for their wedding rocked it out! We had some pretty Christmas/winter themed decor, which “why not?” since their wedding was 2 days after Christmas! We had a blast out on the dance floor, dancing the night away. And if you follow me for any time, you know I like to get out there with my girls and dance! You may or may not see a couple of me from this wedding with Katie and her bridesmaids! What a fun night!
Thanks so much to Katie and Dylan for trusting us with your wedding! Evie and I had an amazing time and are so thankful for the opportunity to bless you with these pictures that will last a lifetime! Much love to y’all! And good luck with the move to Mississippi! Thank you, Dylan, for your service in the Air Force.
Katie had these gorgeous Kate Spade shoes as her secondary ones, but with all of the walking I had her doing after her First Look, we decided to take off the heals and wear these around the property for pictures! It was great that she had these “reception shoes” to wear during portraits! Katie’s baby bonnet converted into a handkerchief for her wedding day! I am just so obsessed with this fun idea! If you’ve followed me for some time, you know that I gift my clients a handmade drawing related to the couple, whether that be how they met, the growth of their relationship, their likes together, their wedding venue, etc. Katie had been following me and knew her drawing was coming, so when I brought it out for her, she got super excited and said, “I knew this was coming! I can’t wait to see what you did!” It cracked me up for sure as you can see! I drew them a picture of Little River Farms! Best bride tribe ever! These ladies were the best! While the girls got ready, the guys were downstairs working on paper airplanes for the sendoff that night! Dylan is in the Air Force, so it was a perfect way to send them off! Dad deserves a First Look, too! And now Dylan’s turn for a First Look with Katie! Her reaction is priceless! Happy tears! Cutest little flower girl! We snuck outside while the ceremony was getting flipped to reception and took a couple of night time portraits!Gorgeous florals and reception decor! There may have been a moment where Dad was called up for a dance before Dylan… they figured it out! There you go, more like it! NOW, it’s Dad’s turn! Note the icing they shoved on each other’s faces! Party time! Love this girl! Progression of the bouquet toss! You can see something sneaky happened for (bridesmaid) Katie to have gotten it!Dylan’s face getting the garter from Katie! Airplane sendoff!
