Midtown Atlanta Engagement | Hanna and Preston

I had such an amazing time with Hanna and Preston at their midtown Atlanta engagement session this weekend. We met for a sunrise session the morning after Daylight Savings. I love me a sunrise session! Maybe I can start to convince clients to get up early for sessions? The light in the morning is just a yummy as Golden Hour later in the day.

We met at Hanna’s parent’s condo for the midtown Atlanta engagement session. They live within walking distance to a couple of super cute and smaller parks in the midtown Atlanta area just a short distance from Piedmont Park. They brought their adorable pup, Tuck, to the session to join in on the fun! I will get to see him again at the wedding!

Hanna is the youngest sister of Betsy, one of my brides from 2015. I loved getting to meet Hanna at Betsy’s wedding 5.5 years ago and was absolutely thrilled when she got engaged and reached out to me to shoot her wedding. She and Preston are planning a summer wedding and asked me of my June availability. I had one Saturday available in June left and they specifically picked that date in order to have me there to shoot their wedding. Y’all, nothing means more to me than when a bride plans her wedding day around having me there. I’ve had it happen a handful of times in my career, and it makes my heart so happy and thankful to these brides who trust me enough to plan their day around my availability!

What’s even funnier is Hanna also attended the middle school that I taught for 7 years. She was there my 2nd year at the school. I never had her, but we figured this out back in 2015 when Betsy got married. We talked about it again on Sunday and we figured out that she had a good friend of mine for 8th grade social studies when I taught it, so I texted Marisa on Sunday to see if she remembered Hanna. It would have been Marisa’s 1st year of teaching; and she’s now in year 13, so I wasn’t sure if she would remember Hanna or not. She most definitely did! Students like Hanna stick with teachers. And because Hanna went to the same school I taught, we know a lot of the same people. I love the fun connections!

I can’t wait until their wedding this June! We are going to have a blast!

I love that Tuck joined us for their midtown Atlanta engagement session! They seriously were the cutest! Can I shoot here all the time now? See? That gorgeous sunrise light! I want this in every session! Hanna switched outfits to this gorgeous floral wrap dress. I love it! Good job, Tuck! He was very patient to get this shot! haha
