Rachael and Brandon’s wedding was a unique and special one for many reasons. First of all, Rachael is the third family member I have had the opportunity to shoot a wedding for. Rachael is my cousin’s daughter. She is actually closer in age to me then my cousin, Melissa. I still remember when Rachael was born, so it is a little crazy to me to think that I just shot her wedding! One of the coolest parts though is that I was Melissa’s flower girl in her wedding and here I am 28 years later shooting pictures for her daughter’s wedding! Another reason why it was really unique was that I got to travel to Texas for their wedding. I’ve done a few out-of-town weddings before, but they have always been close enough to be able to drive to. I got to fly for the first time with my camera gear and fly to a really fun wedding! Another reason why it was pretty unique is the fact that I had not met Brandon until the day before the wedding. If you know me and my business, you know I love to get to know my couples during the process as much as I can. Due to the fact that they live in Texas and I am in Georgia, I was unable to meet with them prior to the wedding. We got to FaceTime and talk on the phone before the wedding to set up the timeline and work out the details of the day, but I did not officially get to hug him around the neck until the day before the wedding.

I absolutely loved everything about their day! From the fact that Rachael was wearing her mother’s dress and that her sister re-did it to make it look less “1990s poofy”. Jennifer did an amazing job! Rachael’s sister, Scarlett, did all of the cupcakes for the reception. I love how much her sisters worked for her wedding day and how special they made it for her.

As I drove to the wedding on Friday from the airport, I was so excited to see the blue bonnets and yellow wild flowers everywhere. I wanted SO badly to incorporate them into their pictures! Rachael told me the venue didn’t have any, but that she was willing to drive a little bit to get the flowers if needed. I was SO excited she wanted them as much as I did! We got some great shots!

The outdoors and hunting is located very close to the center of Brandon and Rachael’s relationship. They have a great love and respect for wildlife. Most of the antlers used as centerpieces were collected scouting either in GA or TX. They also love fishing whether it’s the lake or the bay represented by the sand in the mason jars. Rachael and Brandon even went fishing in the Florida Keys for their honeymoon!

Brandon is a Texas cowboy through and through. From his cowboy hat to his jeans to his sunglasses, he definitely exudes the Texas spirit! I love getting to know him and his family over the weekend. And I am so thankful that I got to see some of mine at the wedding as well. It was such a fun day and I am truly blessed that I was able to be a part of Rachael’s day and such a special way. Thank you Rachael and Brandon for trusting me with your pictures! I hope you love and enjoy them as much as I do.

I love what is on his ring! So cool!  I love all of the little details! Even Rachael’s hair piece was a part of her mother’s dress!  Daddy walking his oldest daughter to her First Look  “How do I look?”  And this is right before I fell over backwards behind a giant planter and cut my leg!  I actually love this tree that was sitting on the ground. It created such a cool backdrop and spot for pictures.  YEAH! We are married! High five to Dad!  Sweet first dance moment!   Dad dancing with all of his girls!
