Atlanta Proposal Photography | Ben and Shannon

Last week I was blessed to be able to head back to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens for an Atlanta proposal photography opportunity. Ben lives in Kentucky and Shannon lives in Arizona currently in vet school, so of course Atlanta seems like the most likely location for their proposal, right?!

Well, Shannon’s spring break was last week and they were headed to Pensacola for the week, so Ben schemed up a plan to have Shannon fly into Atlanta and for him to drive down for a day or two prior to the beach for a proposal! Ben literally Googled “Atlanta proposal photography” and found me through that. I think that’s how a lot of my guys find me to help plan their proposals to their girlfriends as I’m shooting another one next week for the same location. I love it!

Shannon loves orchids, so Ben planned his proposal around the fact that the gardens currently has their Orchid Daze going on. He wanted to propose to Shannon in front of the orchids, so he and I planned a sneaky Atlanta proposal photography session in order to make it happen. He called the gardens to set up the photo shoot and I went a week early and did a virtual Zoom call with him. I showed him exactly where to walk and where to go and we picked a spot in the orchid garden to propose.

I got there a little early and since we set up the shoot ahead of time, got in with the help of the gardens staff. Once they opened the observatory to the general public, Ben was there with Shannon ready to enter in! I stood around with my fancy camera pretending to take pictures of the flowers and slowly followed them to the spot we had chosen to him to pop the question. I “shot pictures of flowers” as I waited for the moment. Literally right as Ben was asking Shannon to be his wife, a lady walked right in front of me. I was about to shoo her away when she saw it happening and ran off! Thankfully she got out of the way in time for me to capture everything for them! Oh and she said yes!

Afterwards, we walked around the gardens for a little mini engagement session to celebrate the moment. It was such a great day and I’m so excited to have been a part of their special moment for them!

She has no idea what’s about to go down! Seconds after the lady moved out of my way! haha She said yes! “Oh there’s the photographer I hired!” Time for pictures around the gardens to celebrate! I love this spot at the gardens for pictures! They’re so happy! Hug her like you’re excited to be engaged! Atlanta proposal photography
