Engagement Sessions

Downtown Decatur Square/Krog Street Tunnel | Atlanta, GA

Never have I been more excited to get to do an engagement session. If you have been following me for any sort of time, you know who Ben is. You know that he is my second shooter and has been working with me for the last six years. Two years ago, we made Ben my full time second shooter to work with me at every wedding I booked. We have traveled many hours together to and from weddings, worked together at nearly 30 weddings in the last two years, participated in eight bridal shows, met with endless consultations; and because of this, we have gotten a chance to get to know each other better and become good friends. Ben never had a sister growing up and I never had a brother. I know we both feel the same in that Ben’s like the brother I never had and vise versa.

So when he went on his first date last year with Rebecca and told me about it on our way to another wedding, I had a pretty good feeling that something special was happening. I knew after meeting her a few weeks later that they were just right for each other. It didn’t surprise me that early on they both felt like they were to be married; and sure enough, Ben proposed to Rebecca in December and they are getting married this summer! Since they asked me to be in the wedding, I will not be shooting their wedding; but I was very thankful they asked me to do their engagement pictures.

We met this weekend for a sunrise session at Downtown Decatur Square. Ben and Rebecca’s first date was there, specifically at the Starbucks there; and he also proposed to her there, so it was fitting that we went there for their engagement session. Ironically enough, they never ordered anything at their first date or their proposal; so today was the first time they actually went into the Starbucks that carries a big place in their relationship. Afterwards, we went to Krog Street Tunnel for a few fun shots with the graffiti.

I had SO. MUCH. FUN. taking their pictures! I’ll be honest, I was a little nervous at first to do their pictures- Ben is a very talented photographer and I have never taken pictures for a fellow wedding photographer, so I wanted to live up to the expectation to give them good pictures. But I had nothing to worry about! Rebecca and Ben are so natural together, so their pictures were super easy to take with lots of laughter and smiles. You’ll see Rebecca’s gorgeous smile throughout their entire session. They are simply adorable together!

Ben and Rebecca, thank you so much for asking me to be a part of your big day; and thank you for giving me the chance to take your engagement pictures! Love you both! I can’t wait for your wedding!
