Downtown Atlanta Engagement Pictures With a Fun City Feel
I loved getting to take Olivia and Michael’s downtown Atlanta engagement pictures. These two brought so much energy to their session from the very start. They met online seven years ago, and now they are getting ready to tie the knot this fall at the Waldorf Astoria Atlanta. After spending time with them, it felt easy to see why they work so well together.
We planned a session with a true city vibe. We walked around and drove to several spots downtown and stopped anywhere that caught our eye. We had a loose plan for the stops we wanted and added to them throughout their session! I think we picked a perfect set of locations for their engagement pictures! Atlanta always gives so much variety for engagement sessions. One street had tall buildings and clean lines. The next had softer light and quiet corners. That mix made these downtown Atlanta engagement pictures feel fresh and fun the whole time.
A Couple That Turned Heads Everywhere We Went
After every booking, I send my brides a bridal guide with tips for their engagement session. Olivia clearly read every page carefully. She showed up looking amazing and fully dressed for the occasion. Michael matched her style perfectly too. She even went and got her hair done this morning in order to be dolled up for her engagement session!
Honestly, people could not stop reacting to them. As we walked around the city, strangers kept congratulating them or telling them how great they looked together. It happened over and over again throughout the session. At one point, I had to laugh and tell them that this definitely does not happen at every engagement shoot I photograph.
Their outfits truly elevated the whole session. The polished look fit the city setting so well and gave these downtown Atlanta engagement pictures an editorial feel without trying too hard.
Ending the Session at Old Fourth Ward
We finished the morning in Old Fourth Ward, where Olivia and Michael live. I always love ending sessions somewhere meaningful to the couple. That part of the city already holds memories for them, which made the photos feel even more personal. By that point, they felt fully comfortable in front of the camera, and everything came naturally. Michael even told me he usually don’t love taking pictures, but that he had a good time and that he’s looking forward to their wedding pictures in the fall!
I cannot wait to photograph their wedding this fall. If their engagement session is any sign, their wedding day at the Waldorf Astoria is going to be beautiful from start to finish.
