In all of my years of shooting, I have never done a Lake Lanier engagement session! I have always wanted to do one, but never had a couple request to a session here, so I was very excited when Sara and Marc threw out the idea! They live on the lake out in Gainesville, so it was a perfect session idea for them! We met at the Buford Dam in early September for their Lake Lanier engagement session and drove from one end of the dam to the other end, stopping at the various parks along the lake. It was perfect!
Even though I had never done a Lake Lanier engagement session, I knew exactly where we should meet for their session and knew of the different spots along the lake along Buford Dam. I was excited when I came across a spot that was a little different than the rest of the session as it was along the dam and a tall pile of rocks lined along the side of the dam down to the waterline. I loved these images for their engagement session. Buford Dam turned out to be a beautiful backdrop in addition to Lake Lanier!
I love going up to the lake. We have kayaks and go up with our kids a couple of times a year and have a blast on the water. Shooting here was a treat! I’ll definitely have to shoot another Lake Lanier engagement session sometime in the future! Maybe I’ll have a couple with a boat sometime and we can go out on the water! Talk about an adventure session!
