Sarah and Miguel’s backyard North Georgia wedding out in farm country in Milton was seriously the PERFECT way to kick off the 2021 wedding season! I shot their wedding in April and am still swooning over these gorgeous images from their day! You’d forget that this North Georgia wedding is less than an hour north of Atlanta, but it feels like it’s out in the country!
I shot their engagement pictures back in the spring of 2020 right before the shutdown and at home quarantining began. The virus was known at this point, but we had no idea how much it would impact Sarah and Miguel’s plans later that year. We met at her parent’s house for their engagement session which turned out gorgeous with the bloom of the cherry blossoms in their yard. It was a perfect location for a perfect engagement session! Sarah and Miguel’s North Georgia wedding originally was supposed to be at the Hotel Avalon. With everything going on with the virus, they decided to push their wedding from October to April and move the wedding to her parent’s house.
Y’all, if all of my backyard weddings looked like this one, I would shoot them every day! Hotel Avalon is pretty and all, but their wedding at her parent’s house was incredible. They made the right choice in moving it! This was such a gorgeous home with many photo opportunities along with just the intimacy of a smaller wedding day. I know things were hard for Sarah and Miguel and their families in 2020, and their wedding day was the perfect ray of sunshine coming out of the fog.
My favorite part of their day is the fact that I knew Sarah back when she was just 13 years old! I was her middle school teacher back in the day! Isn’t that insane? Here we were 12 years later and I’m shooting her wedding. I absolutely love it! I have had the opportunity now to shoot a handful of weddings for past students and even their parents now! I love all of my brides, but when I have a former student of mine have me shoot their wedding, there is something even more special about it! Just have to get them to call me Mandi and not Mrs. Mitchell! I know how hard that mental transition can be!
Their day couldn’t have been more perfect! Sarah and Miguel, thank you both from the bottom of my heart for having me at your wedding. Love y’all!
I love this ring combination and color of the their rings! Sweet moments reading cards exchanged before First Look! Sweet moment with mom before First Look with Dad! Dad deserves a First Look, too! Now Miguel’s turn! I love his reaction!! Fist pump for the win! This North Georgia wedding is absolutely perfect! I love their home and property! I always love an epic veil toss! Sweet almost kiss! Sarah wears a necklace with her and her two sister’s initials. Their sweet sister, Martha Ann, passed last summer, so this is a very sweet piece of jewelry that Sarah holds close to her heart. Gorgeous bridesmaids! Time to get married! You may kiss the bride! This gorgeous row of trees belong to the neighbors across the street. I love this spot so much!! The field next to the row of trees had these gorgeous yellow flowers, so we took pictures there, too! Sarah was a trooper walking in her heels to get these pictures, but they were so worth it! Gorgeous, Sarah! They had a food truck for the food! It was so fun! Miguel is a huge Braves fan, so of course his cake had to be Braves themed! Everyone was so touched during the first dances Lots of fun dancing all night long! Epic sparkler exit kiss!
Such a stunning north Georgia wedding! Love the epic sparkler shot!
