I met Lidan and Tiefi through a referral. Lidan had a friend who got married earlier this summer who talked with me over the phone months ago, but was unable to book me for their wedding; however, she liked talking to me and liked my work that she referred me to Lidan when she was planning her wedding! I’ve never had a referral like that before, so that was pretty cool!

I loved meeting with Lidan and Tiefi when they first came to my house a few months ago. We got to know each other; and I found out that they met through a Bible study at their church. Apparently, Lidan was not very impressed with Tiefi in the beginning. She thought he was too silly and was not someone she would want to date; but Tiefi’s fun personality rubbed off on Lidan and she changed her mind. We did their engagement pictures at Simpsonwood Park a few months back and had a blast! I got to know Tiefi’s fun and silly personality firsthand!

Their wedding was one of the most unique weddings I have ever shot. For starters, they got ready together at Wedding Line in Duluth and they had the whole place to themselves. I’ve never had a couple get ready together- the closest I had to that was a few years ago when both Laura and Mark got ready at their home, but they didn’t see each other until their First Look. Tiefi and Lidan were in the room giving their opinions on how to do each other’s hair and hanging out with each other all morning. I really love the pictures that Ben and I captured while they were getting ready. It was really cool!

They didn’t have a wedding party, so this allowed for ample time for us to do their First Look and couple pictures beforehand. We had so much fun taking an hour of pictures of just the two of them around the venue with no rushing to get to the next set of pictures. You’ll see in the pictures that Tiefi is a jokester and loved making faces throughout the day! They definitely could make each other laugh, that’s for sure!

After the wedding, we did their family pictures and went on into the reception. With their reception having no dancing, they opted for some fun performances done by family and friends. It was a fun day and Ben and I are so thankful that we were able to come and help out. Special thanks to Erin, my summer intern, for her stellar help at the wedding as well!

First Look time! The top in this next set is Ben’s picture. The bottom is mine. I love the perspective of the two different pictures happening at the same moment! Perfect set of silly Tiefi pictures 🙂 They are just too cute “Hello everyone! Welcome to my wedding!” Tiefi was very emotional when Lidan came down the aisle. You could tell how much he loved her and how excited he was to marry her. I love these pictures! A few late night pictures before sendoff!
