St. Peter Chanel | Roswell River Landing | Roswell, GA | May 4, 2019
I recently had the opportunity to take pictures for Amber and Tyler’s beautiful May wedding here in Roswell at the Roswell River Landing. Living in Roswell myself, I am kind of in love with any wedding that occurs in Roswell 1) because I love where I live and there are so many beautiful places to take pictures and 2) my commute is super short! There are almost a dozen wedding venues within a 3 mile radius of my house and ironically enough, I haven’t shot at the Roswell River Landing before!
I met Amber and her mom at the Roswell vendor show last January. I loved this show as it showcased Roswell vendors and venues and brought in brides who were getting married locally. I even met Amy and her mom at the show for her wedding to Kevin last fall. This show was awesome, but sadly the city wasn’t able to do it this year. I hope we can do it again in the future! I loved booking local weddings in Roswell.
I finally got to meet Tyler last year when we did their engagement pictures at Barrington Hall here in Roswell. We had so much fun getting to walk the property. I even got to meet their pup, Benelli. She posed for a ring shot on her nose! Talk about a well behaved pup!
The day of the wedding was so much fun! We had one big downpour in the middle of the day, but luckily it was before the ceremony at St. Peter Chanel and we were all inside just getting ready. I think it helped later on in the day when we took portraits outside, because the two locations we took pictures before heading over to the Roswell River Landing were the Mill and the Boardwalk that are both super busy and crowded with people in the spring. We ran into hardly anyone at either location and I attribute it to the forecast calling for rain all day and the rain we had earlier in the day. It couldn’t have been a more perfect day!
I have wanted to go to the Roswell Boardwalk by the Chattahoochee River for pictures for a while. It’s a fairly simple spot by my house that people walk on daily, but I had a vision in my head of how awesome it would look in the spring or summer with the trees in bloom over the boardwalk. I haven’t had a couple want to go here yet, so when Amber and Tyler were discussing their portrait locations with me for their wedding, they trusted me when I suggested this spot even though they had never been here or seen any sample pictures from it. I am so thankful for my clients who trust my artistic vision and say yes to me. They both agreed afterwards that it was a perfect spot for their portraits. And a big bonus is it was a 1/2 mile from their venue and fit with the feel of their reception venue.
The reception at the Roswell River Landing was so much fun! It’s right off the river on such a beautiful spot. As the cocktail hour was happening, some fog rolled in on the river. It looked AMAZING. We had originally planned on coming outside during the reception for a quick set of sunset pictures, but the light at that moment was perfect and the fog looked so cool, so I grabbed Amber and Tyler and we did about 5 minutes of portraits along the river with the fog rolling in. These are some of my favorites of the day.
Thank you so much Amber and Tyler for trusting Ben and me to shoot your wedding. We had such a fun time!
The inside of Tyler’s ring says “Faithful and True” along with their wedding date. Amber and Tyler exchanged notes with each other before the ceremony And Amber gave her parents some sweet handkerchiefs embroidered with special notes Time to get married! Ben rode in the bus on the way to the Mill for wedding party pics. He got some fun shots along the way! Amber didn’t want to get her cute Kate Spades dirty, so she walked off the bus in her Auburn colored Under Armor shoes. She asked me, “Do you think these will work?” My answer was, “Where are your cute Kate Spades?” Hahaha. I told her we would make sure not to get them muddy. While I thought the Under Armor shoes were awesome, I didn’t think she would want them showing up in her pictures possibly. I love it! A friend of Amber’s mom made her veil! How cool! Roswell River Landing is such a pretty venue! And I’m slightly obsessed with Nothing Bundt Cakes. They are some of my favorite cakes! Portraits by the river with the fog during cocktail hour Sweet speeches from sister and brother who were both Maid of Honor and Best Man! Time to party! (and Chuck) <—– inside joke from the day 🙂 Roswell River Landing has a great outdoor space, so the guys hung outside and smoked some cigars for a while. Ben and I got some really cool shots!
Thanks to all of the vendors who made their wedding day possible!
