Jenna and Tanner | NAS Jacksonville | Jacksonville Beach | Anniversary Session
Jenna and Tanner are one of my favorite couples! This is the third time I had the opportunity to take their pictures. We did their engagement pictures last spring in Roswell at the Roswell Mill, then I did their wedding in November at Lewallen Farms, and now their anniversary session! They won my contest that I do annually. They live in Jacksonville, so we weren’t sure if I would be able to make it down there for their session or if they would come up to Atlanta when they visited family for their session. My older sister lives not far from them, so we thought we might try to get me down there at some point for their session.
When I started planning the possibility of an engagement session for Teresa and Curtis in Savannah, I knew I had to see if Jenna was available the same weekend for me to come down to Jacksonville. I have always wanted to take pictures on the Navy base there, and we were trying to make it work out for Tanner’s homecoming last year, but it couldn’t work out for the timing for me to come down. So when Jenna told me that they would be around the same weekend, I was so excited that we would be able to make it work out for me to do both sessions that weekend! At first she forgot she was IN a wedding and we had scheduled their pictures for Saturday evening, but it worked out and we moved theirs to Sunday while I did Teresa and Curtis on Saturday.
After I finished on Sunday in Savannah, I drove down to Jacksonville to meet them at the Navy base to take pictures at the base. It was so cool getting to go out onto the airfield and take pictures with NO ONE around! We literally had the field to ourselves for some really cool pictures. I am so glad I drove down to Jacksonville to make it happen.
Afterwards, we rode together over to the beach. Jenna and Tanner really wanted to get beach pictures done. They already had some cool Navy base pictures of themselves, so they were really doing that portion as more of a favor to me for my portfolio. They have lived in Jacksonville for years and haven’t had any beach pictures of themselves yet, so they were excited for this portion of the session. I absolutely loved Jenna’s dress she wore for the session!
I had such a great time getting to take their pictures and catch up with them. We had a yummy dinner on the water afterwards that was dog friendly since they brought their sweet pup with them to the session! I can’t wait to see them again next time I get to go visit my sister!
