I might be a little biased, but I think November 17th is the best date of the year to get married. I mean, seeing as it’s my own anniversary and all. At the beginning of the year, I asked my husband if he would be okay if I possibly shot a wedding on our anniversary this year since we wouldn’t get to celebrate that day. For the second time in our 10 years of being married, our anniversary fell on a Saturday. I prepped him ahead of time that I would probably get an inquiry and possibly a wedding, so before I responded to any inquiries, I needed to know if I was going to turn down the date or not. November 17th was our 11 year anniversary, so we decided since it wasn’t a milestone anniversary that it would be okay for me to be gone working. Well, not only did I get Jenna end up emailing me in January about her wedding at Lewallen Farms for the 17th, but I also met Amy a couple of weeks later for her November 18th wedding which I also booked; so I had a doubleheader on my anniversary weekend!

Jenna and Tanner’s engagement session in Roswell was wonderful, but their wedding was absolutely perfect, the first day of sunshine at the end of a three-week stretch of rain. We could not have been blessed with a more beautiful fall day at Lewallen Farms. Weather on this day can be finicky in Georgia. Some years it’s absolutely freezing and other years it’s super nice weather. I’m glad we didn’t have to worry about the cold or icky rain on their day!

Tanner is currently serving in the Navy. Before the wedding, Jenna was joking that we’re having a “double” first look since she had never seen Tanner in his white uniform in person. What a fun thing for them on their wedding day! Jenna’s reaction during their First Look was not only of excitement of seeing Tanner on their wedding day, but also of seeing him in his uniform for the first time in person. They got to do a really cool sword arch at the end of the wedding ceremony in which Jenna and Tanner had to kiss to be permitted admittance past the arch. If you haven’t seen it done before, it’s a really cool Navy wedding tradition. They also got to use Tanner’s sword to cut their cake, which was the most epic way I’ve ever seen a cake cut before!

After their First Look, they exchanged gifts with each other. Tanner got Jenna a beautiful necklace with her birthstone. Tanner loves whisky, so his gift from Jenna was a special bottle from Scotland – it was aged in “Tanner” wine and is from Jenna’s birth year so she thought it was a good/personal representation of them coming together on their wedding day. What a cool gift! Jenna really put some thought into that! You need to make sure you see the pictures of their gift exchange. It’s super sweet!

We had such an amazing day: from their beautiful ceremony facing the mountains to their gorgeous after-ceremony sunset pictures to the amazing food to the fun reception! The day could not have been more fun! Thanks so much Jenna and Tanner for allowing us to be a part of your special day. at Lewallen Farms. We were truly blessed to get to take pictures for the two of you. Thanks for trusting us to be there. I hope you enjoy your pictures as much as I do!

 Jenna planned ahead. She got two pair of her wedding shoes just in case one got muddy!  The guys get to play, because as we know, it takes them .5 seconds to be ready! Lewallen Farms has a perfect getting ready/game room for the guys!  Jenna made sure her pup was at the wedding for pictures. Her parents love their little girl, because they drove Jenna’s dog up for pre-ceremony pictures and drove her back home after we finished!  Sweet First Look moment!   I love Lewallen Farms and just how gorgeous this venue is!  I LOVE these gorgeous flowers from Southern Peach Floral!  Mountains everywhere around Lewallen Farms!  Jenna and Tanner exchanging their gifts before the ceremony Last minute touchups!  Sword arch! I love it!  Lewallen Farms drove us up to this gorgeous spot on a big hill for sunset pictures with the mountains all around. It was perfect!  We were finished with their pictures and about to enter the reception when the sky did THIS. Jenna had the same idea that I did and asked for one of us to come outside. I was taking pictures of something, so they grabbed Ben and he got these epic sunset silhouette shots. I am still floored by how amazing these are!  Grandma had a blast! Cake cutting with Tanner’s sword!  Same Day Slideshow time! I love it! And then we snuck outside for a handful of pictures with the gorgeous twinkle lights at the ceremony site!
