Piedmont Park Engagement Pictures
I had the best time with Aubrey and Jake this past weekend! I hadn’t met them yet in person, but I had literally the best phone consultation I have ever had with Aubrey and her mom last month when coming back from the Southeast Photo Convention in Savannah. I spent over an hour on the phone with Aubrey and Leigh Ann and had the greatest time getting to know them and hear about Aubrey and Jake’s wedding. Leigh Ann actually found me thanks to an Instagram search with the Piedmont Driving Club. I shot Emily and Craig’s wedding there a year and a half ago.
They wanted to use their engagement pictures for Save the Date cards, and with their wedding being this October, they really wanted to make it happen to get them done in February in order to get them ordered sooner, rather than later; so pretty much no matter what the weather looked like, unless it was pouring, they were game to get their pictures done. We decided they wanted Piedmont Park engagement pictures with the option to do some at Ponce City Market time permitting. It had rained all week including Saturday morning, but the rain started to let up mid-morning and it was only supposed to be overcast/drizzling in the afternoon, so they said they still wanted to meet. I was excited, because I really like some rainy day pictures. I love using a clear umbrella. I got to use it recently for Andie and Chandler’s wedding since it had rained there. I also like rainy day engagement pictures, because there is hardly anyone out. I don’t have to deal with many people in the background like I do on a normal day for Piedmont Park engagement pictures.
I enjoyed getting to know Aubrey and Jake! I got to hear about how they met at Auburn and dated much of their college career there. I learned about their relationship and where they plan on living after they get married- be ready for a visitor to Charleston all of the time, y’all! 🙂 I got to share with them Abigail’s adoption story, which I always love telling. We had so much fun that by the end of the session, I kind of forgot that I had only just met them! Plus, it helped that we rode together. After their Piedmont Park engagement pictures, we headed over to Ponce City Market for some shots. By the time we left Piedmont, got over to Ponce, and walked to the spot we were going to take pictures, it was dark. We were able to snap a few before we called it a night.
I cannot wait until their wedding in October. We are going to have the best time!
Usually there are a lot of runners behind here that I have to wait for, but not today! I love the hazy look of the city! A couple of shots at Ponce City Market!
beautiful engagement photos! The ring shots in the daffodils are awesome, makes me excited for Spring to come!
