Piedmont Driving Club | Atlanta, GA | August 26, 2017

Emily and Craig’s wedding at the Piedmont Driving Club was the 2nd wedding we shot in our double header last weekend. Mayra and Phil were on Friday and Emily and Craig were on Saturday. Their wedding is definitely one that goes down for the record books. The whole day was fun! With ten groomsmen and nine bridesmaids, that’s a lot of people to hang out with and have lots of fun with during the day and into the night.

Emily and Craig’s good friend, Brian, got certified online to be a wedding officiate. Of the over 100 weddings I have shot at this point, I think that the two from this year are the only ones I have had with someone getting certified online. (Correct me if you’re one of my brides and I’m wrong!) Katie and Matt’s brother earlier in the year got certified and did their ceremony and now Emily and Craig’s wedding. From what I’ve experienced so far, having a family or friend to do the wedding makes for a very funny ceremony. Their officiate had Emily and Craig’s guests and myself included laughing the whole time. It was a great ceremony to watch! And the room at the Piedmont Driving Club for the ceremony was so pretty!

Not as uncommon, but still not something that happens at every wedding was the inclusion of Emily’s dog, Coconut. Emily brought Coconut to their engagement session and had to include her in the wedding as well! One the junior bridesmaids carried Coconut down the aisle. The other carried the baby ring bearer. It was so cute! I loved the cute touches of the ceremony that really spoke to Emily and Craig’s personalities.

The reception was fun filled with dancing, food, dancing, and more food and dancing. The band kept everyone on the floor all night and the amazing caterer kept the buffet bars filled with yummy foods all night from sushi to chicken and waffles to a mashed potato bar! There was no lack of food or dancing or fun!

Thanks to Emily and Craig for having us at your wedding. We had such a great time! Ben and I loved getting to be there to capture every moment for you! I hope you’re enjoying your safari in Africa!

Take a minute to read the details of their ceremony. So clever and cute!  Coconut waiting for Mommy to get ready  Emily’s sweet mom was overcome with emotion as she saw her daughter in her wedding dress  Craig got Emily these awesome shirts… wait for the next one. This is hilarious! “World’s okayest husband!” And even funnier is that Craig ordered the shirts, but they didn’t come in on time, so he had a friend go get these made at the mall last minute. They have another set of these coming in the mail later, because two of these shirts are a must!  Checking to make sure he’s doing it right  Emily got Craig a Rolex for his gift! So cool! Baby Jack needed an apple sauce break. Being a ring bearer is hard work. Both Mama’s hugging! Such a sweet moment!  I loved every spot at the Piedmont Driving Club for pictures!  I loved this inside of Craig’s jacket!  Craig at the Wreck at the wedding! They ended up leaving at the end of the night in the Wreck, but they brought it by earlier in the day so that the guys could take pictures at the Piedmont Driving Club with it. Almost everyone in the wedding party is a Tech grad, so it was a perfect fit for the groomsmen pictures! Y’all, this bouquet was gorgeous. Emily said she wanted something unique. Well unique is what she got! Emily told me that they even had orchids (I think they were orchids- I’m so bad at flowers) flown in from Thailand for the flowers at the wedding! I love the alternating glitter and solid dresses! Such a fun idea!
(I secretly wish that when I got married 10 years ago that things like this were in. All of my bridesmaids have long red matching dresses- how things change in such a short time!)
I suggested the cuff links to Craig last month at our timeline meeting and I’m so glad he got them! He also got ones for each of the groomsmen for their groomsmen gift along with the fun socks I told him about. 🙂  Kisses for Mama!  Emily said that if anyone messed up her dress, she would be very upset; but that Coconut could sit and walk all over it and she wouldn’t care. That’s some puppy love. 🙂  Craig was very excited to see Emily as she walked in!  Mini hamburgers and beers handed out right after the “I do’s” and y’all, the hamburgers had an “H” branded into them!  I said, “now kiss!” Well, I guess a handful of the wedding party thought I meant more than just Emily and Craig! 🙂  Coconut is on the cake!  Emily and Craig’s first dance was epic! Craig picked up Emily and spun her around a couple of times, dipped her, twirled her. It was fun to see them work so hard on their first dance and do something unique to them!  Shove that cake!  See? Lots of fun and dancing!  Craig enjoyed the late night snacks of mini milkshakes and french fries  Leaving the Piedmont Driving Club in the Wreck!
