David and Lauren’s proposal at Canoe today was simply the sweetest! Lauren and David met on Hinge just over two years ago with their first date at Canoe, so it was only fitting that their proposal be at the same location. They went for a late brunch at Canoe and David took Lauren outside to propose after they finished eating. Funny enough, David had gone to the “restroom” at the end of their meal (he was really texting me that they were about to come outside) and while he stepped out, Lauren texted her friend that “he’s not going to propose today. He’s too calm.” Well, his calmness helped Lauren’s suspicion disappear.
They came outside to enjoy the view while I sat on a bench nearby playing on my phone with my camera hidden until they walked by. I waited until David started talking to Lauren and she knew he was proposing to get up and start snapping pictures. Once the moment starts, I’m not worried if she sees me or not because I’m not ruining any surprise. Lauren didn’t even notice me until afterwards, she only had eyes for David!
David found me by basically Googling “Canoe proposal” and since I have shot a couple of proposals at Canoe, David found me and immediately knew he’d found his photographer for his proposal at Canoe to Lauren! He even called me from the Philippines this week while on a work trip in order to work through the details. He got back yesterday, so Lauren thought they might have a chill day today; but he had other plans!
Canoe is one of my favorite Atlanta proposal locations thanks to the beautiful view in the background, but also the semi-private space provided by the gorgeous garden area just outside of the restaurant. It’s absolutely perfect!
